Design a New Trophy!
Wed like to make the National
Enterprise Trophy better known and this year Justin Wills has
kindly allowed us to add his fathers name to the title;
after all it was Philip Wills who was the originator of the
Qualifying Flights
Qualifying flights may not receive a BGA
trophy. They may involve lift other than thermal and wave
ridge or cliff running, convergences, sea breezes or perhaps
crossing unusual terrain. Indeed it could be quite a short
distance and perhaps in a low handicapped glider. In other words
it is one that can be termed Enterprising.
Nominations for 2009
The BGA have agreed to start awarding this
trophy at their annual prize-giving ceremony, so we are seeking
nominations for this year 1st January to 31st
December 2009.
Past Nominations
The trophy has been a fairly well kept
secret and since its inception in 1985 has been awarded just 11
times. We believe many enterprising flights have not come to the
attention of the Enterprise Club. Currently we are
missing the following years and so are seeking
nominations retrospectively for:
1987, 1988, 1989, 1991, 1994, 1995, 1997,
1999, 2000, 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2005.
Nomination Details
If you feel that one of your flights
qualifies or you know of such a flight by someone else, then
please send details to: jhart.jon@gmail.com by 31st
December 2009. All submissions for 2009, and those
missing years, will be acknowledged and the winner/s
announced by 31st January 2010.
