Yorkshire Gliding Club will host the thirty-third competition Enterprise from Saturday 7th July to Saturday 14th July 2007. Sunday 15th July will be a "Fly Home Day" All ages and classes of glider are welcome and all levels of competence (as long as you have a Silver C). The tasks are designed to give flexibility and encourage all levels to try harder and learn from really experienced pilots. John Fielden Junior Scholarships 2007: For many people John Fielden was Enterprise. Fighting the growing restrictions of Competition Flying, Philip Wills asked John to hold the "Enterprise" baton when the competition first started in 1974. From that date he successfully directed virtually every Enterprise up until his death in 2002. It was always his desire to encourage younger pilots to follow this philosophy and, indeed, several Junior Squad pilots, led by Andy Perkins, joined us at North Hill in 2002. John's legacy has made available the chance for two Junior Entrants to fly at Enterprise at minimal cost. To qualify, you must be under 26 yrs at the beginning of the Competition. Please write to the organisers, Yorkshire Gliding Club, with your Personal & Flying details and you will be considered for the Scholarship. Alternatively, if you know of a budding pilot in this category, please get them to contact the club. All Pilots under 26 are entitled to half-price entry to the competition even if they do not win a scholarship. Closing Dates: Closing Date for application for the Scholarships has been set at Easter 2007 (8th April) Applicants will be informed of the decision within a week of that date. | Junior Scholarship Details: | 50% off the Junior Entry Fees | Up to 7 Aerotows Free | A small Travel Allowance |
